In a recent interview to the media, actor of 'I', Vikram opened up about why Tamil movies are not making it big in Bollywood.
"Not every Tamil movie could get the same response as it got it in original but films like Anniyan and 'I' are having the universal appeal. While releasing Tamil movies in Hindi the producers should market them in such a way that the film should have an earlier audio launch, and promotional videos should be out so that it will reach the targeted audience. Bollywood actors are reluctant to act in the Pithamagan remake where I acted in animal kind of a role with a deglamourized make-up. As many actors refused to do the national award winning role of Pithamagan, the makers dubbed it in Hindi and from thereon, many of my films got dubbed" said Vikram.
Vikram also said "When I did Sethu, I know that the film is going to do something to me and I'm getting a similar feeling with 'I'. People may love or hate this movie but they will be shocked while watching the movie." We hope they love it!
A source in the know says, “Vikram has been shuttling between Chennai and Mumbai these days for the dubbing. The film is going to release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi at the same time. As it has got a multiple release, the post production is taking a little more time and that’s why a Deepavali release seems to be doubtful now. When he gets back from Mumbai, he will commence shoot for the final schedule of Vijay Milton’s film Pathu Enrathukulla.”
Directed by Shankar ‘I’ has Vikram, Amy Jackson, Santhanam, Upen Patel, Ramkumar and many to its star cast. Produced by Aascar Ravichandran, I has music by AR Rahman and the audio launch date of Telugu and Hindi versions will be out soon.
Sources also indicate that 'I' will be a November 14 release.
