Rajini fans are gearing up to celebrate the birthday of Rajinikanth on 12th December. After Kochadaiyaan, Rajinikanth is donning the lead role in the film titled Lingaa. He has donned dual roles in the film.

Anushka and Sonakshi Sinha are the heroines of the film. K S Ravikumar has directed the film. A R Rahman has composed the music. Rajini’s friend Rockline Venkatesh has produced this high budgeted film. This film is being released worldwide on 12th December which also happens to be the birthday of Rajini.

Eros International has acquired the entire rights of Lingaa. Vendhar Movies have acquired the Tamil Nadu rights from Eros for a whooping amount of Rs 80 Crores. Vendhar Movies have decided to release Lingaa in 600 theatres in Tamil Nadu. Till day before yesterday, the Kerala rights was not sold out to anyone.

At this juncture, Vendhar Movies who are releasing the film in Tamil Nadu has also acquired the rights of Kerala territory. It is understood that the rights of the film have been acquired for a whooping price. This is the first time a Rajini film has been sold for this price in Kerala. Like in Tamil Nadu, Vendhar Movies will be releasing the film in numerous theatres.
