The eagerly awaited sequel to director RK Selvamani's blockbuster Pulan Visaranai is to finally hit screens.
Pulan Visaranai 2 is a cop-thief chase movie, where Prashanath plays a power cop roles. The movie that has hit the floors in 2005 and postponed its release dates several times, has finally released world wide on Thursday [Jan 29, 2015], after a decade.
Sources in the industry say that Pulan Visaranai 2 has been cleared with an 'A' certificate, which marks the debut of renowned Tamil actresses Karthika and Aswini, Prakash Raj, Radha Ravi, Anandaraj, Nizhalgal Ravi, Pyramid Natarajan, Roja, Kuyili and RK have played other important roles in the movie.
Incidentally, the 'A' certificate is not for sex or violence in the film but for its political content. It may be recalled that Pulan Visaranai, which featured Vijayakanth in the lead, was a roaring hit in the nineties. The film's story was loosely based on the serial killer Auto Shankar, whose character was essayed by Anand Raj in the first part. Spurred by the success of his film, director Selvamani had begun work on the sequel in 2005. However, for reasons unknown, the film could not be released until now.

When reporters got in touch with Selvamani, he confirmed, saying, "Yes, we intend to release the film on January 29. We will be opting for only a theatre release. As many as 190 prints have been confirmed for release." Giving details, the director says, "The sequel will have Prashanth playing an IPS officer, posted in Delhi. The link between the first and the second part will be the beginning of the sequel. The film will begin with Auto Shankar escaping from the prison."
