Suriya adopts three flood affected villages

Going a step ahead in his flood relief activities, Suriya has decided to adopt three villages in the neighbouring Thiruvallur district, through his Agaram Foundation.

In a statement, he said, “Agaram foundation has decided to adopt the villages of Nelvai, Kalachur and Keragambakkam in Thiruvallur district.”

“They are home to IruIa families who have been badly affected by the floods. The residents have no identity cards and are not eligible to receive any official aid. The children don’t go to school and they are malnourished”, he added.

On his part, Mani Ratnam has announced adopting Suriya Nagar area in Kottupuram in Chennai. He has done this through his Naam Foundation, which he runs along with his wife Suhasini.

According to the ace filmmaker, he has decided to adopt the place to lend a helping hand to government which is providing relief measures to all the flood-affected people in the city.
