Suchitra is back as RJ, as a completely different personality

Suchitra
Suchitra aka Suchi is back in her RJ business and happy feels happy about it. For last few years the famous RJ & singer kept low profile after the Suchileaks controversy.

Suchitra, whose name can be seen in headlines from time to time, has cleared the air on the viral #Suchileaks. In an interview, the singer denied posting private photos of celebrities on social media and claimed that her account was hacked. She also stated that she went into depression after the incident and since it happened at a time when she was having a rough patch in her married life, it affected her mental health.

When she was asked about her sister’s recent allegation on her suicide attempt, she strongly denied it stating that it was disappointing to see her own sister spreading false news about her.

Suchi talks about her recent lows and present highs, and says there’s no bitterness about what she’s gone through.

Due to lockdown, the RJ is doing show from her kitchen as studio is set up there. "It’s an amazing sense of déjà vu I experience when I turn on the mic. That makes me very happy." said Suchi.

"I have changed and I am 100 per cent a different person. In the last 12 years, I’ve seen more ups and downs than one would in their entire lifetime. The sound of 98.3 Mirchi Chennai’s ‘Hi Chennai’, my breakfast show, is completely different. Of course, my general craziness on air will be intact, but my perspective has changed. When I was doing the show back then, there were a lot of don’ts. I feel those have relaxed a bit. Radio is a more viable medium for personal expression as well. The jocks are talking about their opinion on things and they are more informed. Listeners, too, have changed.", she added.

When asked about her instagram cooking and food pictures,
"Cooking is a hobby I picked up at a dark time in my life. Despite issuing statements about my account being hacked, I was facing issues at work due to rumours that were circulating post #SuchiLeaks. I even gave a statement to a prominent Tamil news channel and figured my part was done. But it got drowned in the noise that all these sensationalistic websites made. I went into depression. It was in that phase cooking came to my rescue. I took a cookbook of my grandmother’s and explored the recipes. I took a year off and did a professional chef’s course. This was therapy of a kind.", she said.

Talking of the ‘dark time’, her ex-husband Karthik Kumar who took to social media to speak about her mental health condition, she replied, "I wish Karthik had not released that video because it confused a lot of people. It affected my work and my relationships. I was going through depression, but I’d have come out of it eventually. It could have been done in a dignified way. Eventually, Karthik, too, realised that it was a bad idea and took it down. I don’t blame the media as they were confused, too. Those leaks... who pulls out private videos of other people from the fraternity and shares it publicly? Who has got access to these videos and which big hand was behind this? All this really shook me. Till date, I have not seen even one of these videos. It is not because I don’t want to be informed about it. Somehow, I didn’t want to add one view of mine to those videos."

"I am still in the process of learning. I am not bitter about anything, today, but I am disappointed that people believe convenient things and take sides without knowing the facts. A couple of people extended their voice of support, including Amala Paul, who gave me benefit of the doubt. In fact, some people from the film fraternity have wished me on my comeback as an RJ.", Suchi added to that.
