Vetri Maaran - Dhanush's Vada Chennai 2 may become a web series than a film

Director Vetri Maaran and Dhanush are one of the successful and celebrated combinations in Tamil Cinema. Their films, Aadukalam and Pollathavan won rave reviews, awards and accolades on a national level.

The combo reunited for the third time for Vada Chennai, which turned out to be one of the most celebrated films in 2018. Vada Chennai was initially announced as a gangster trilogy by Vetri Maaran. But, it looks like Vetri Maaran will not be releasing it back to back. 'Vada Chennai' created a huge buzz, and fans had been waiting to witness its sequel. During the press meet of Vada Chennai, the filmmaker said that the second part will take more time.

Now, director Vetrimaaran has finally revealed his plans about the release of 'Vada Chennai 2' in a recent interview with a daily. Director Vetrimaaran has revealed that he has ideas of making the sequels of Vada Chennai as a web-series, and not as a film. The director also mentioned that he had not yet made any final decision about the release of 'Vada Chennai 2'.

Vetrimaaran has also said that he has almost completed his portions in the Netflix anthology which is about honor killing. Besides Vetri, Vignesh ShivN, Gautham Menon, and Sudha Kongara are also a part of this anthology.

On the film front, Vetri has completed the script works of his two films. The director's soon to be commenced film with comedy actor Soori is based on Meeran Mitheen's Ajnabi novel. The film will be bankrolled by RS Infotainment.

The filmmaker also signed a big-budget film with Suriya and Kalaipuli S Thanu. Vetrimaaran's film with Suriya is based on Chellapa's Vaadi Vaasal novel.
