Thala Ajith asked producer to resume the film's shooting only after the COVID 19 situation is completely under control.
Government has allowed nonessential businesses to reopen despite increase in coronavirus cases. But the makers of Ajith's upcoming project 'Valimai' decided to postpone the film’s shoot until the situation comes back to normalcy.
While few movie makers are requesting the Government to reopen film industry and give permission for outdoor shots, Ajith have requested Valimai team to take it easy and asked them to not rush even if they get permission from the local Government. To be noted that Kamal Haasan also made a similar statement recently that it is not wise to start shoots when COVID-19 cases are peaking!
Reports say that Ajith affirmed producer Boney Kapoor that he will move on to his next film only after completing Valimai and hence asked him to resume the shoot only after the situation returns back to normalcy.
But until a vaccine is widely dispersed, it’s unclear what normal will look like. The film production process is extensive, requiring a number of different groups — hair and make-up artists, costume designers, set decorators, actors, cinematographers, cameramen and sound producers — to work together seamlessly. In the new reality of coronavirus, those jobs, which are done in close proximity to one another, become more difficult.
With almost 60 percent of the film’s shooting has been completed, and the team had planned to shoot some portions overseas. When the situation is well contained, the cast and crew will go abroad and shoot the remaining portions.
'Valimai' will have Yami Gautam, Ileana D'Cruz and Huma Qureshi as female leads. Telugu actor Kartikeya Gummakonda will play main antagonist for the film. Directed by H Vinoth, the film also includes Yogi Babu and Pavel Navageethan of Vada Chennai fame in key roles.
'Valimai' is Ajith's second film after 'Nerkonda Paarvai' for Boney Kapoor's banner. The cop thriller is one of the most expected Kollywood movies of the year.
