Director Karthik Subbaraj 'sChiyaan 60 with Vikram and Dhruv Vikram officially announced.
Kollyinsider reported few days back that Karthik Subbaraj is going to direct Vikram's 60th film and his son Dhruv Vikram is playing lead role with his dad. Now the movie is officially announced by the crew and production house.
Actor Vikram who was last seen in Rajesh Selva's 'Kadaram Kondan', was busy shooting for 'Cobra' directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu and Mani Ratnam's mega budget 'Ponniyin Selvan' before the COVID-19 lockdown. Even director Karthik Subbaraj is awaiting the release of his Dhanush starrer 'Jagame Thanthiram'.
The director has announced that his next will be with actors Vikram and Dhruv Vikram. Titled Chiyaan 60 for now, Anirudh Ravichander will compose the film’s music and it will be produced by Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio. This will be the first time that Anirudh will be composing for a Vikram film.
“Happy to announce that my next directorial after #JagameThandhiram is…. ‘CHIYAAN60’ #Chiyaan60 Starring the awesome Chiyaan Vikram Sir & Dhruv Vikram… And it will be an @anirudhofficial musical.. Produced by @Lalit_SevenScr @7screenstudio (sic),” wrote Karthik in his Twitter handle.
Lalit Kumar, in an interview said, "Karthik had narrated the script to Vikram two months ago, and the actor really liked the script. All that I can say for now is that the film will be a gangster drama. We are looking at going on floors two months after the lockdown is lifted."
Chiyaan 60 is going to be a landmark project in the career of the father and son. While it marks the 60th film in Vikram’s career, for Dhruv, it will the first time to share screen space with his father.
Dhruv Vikram who debuted in kollywood last year through 'Adithya Varma', is the Tamil remake of Telugu blockbuster 'Arjun Reddy'. Chiyaan 60 will be second movie for the young actor.
Vikram has a slew of movies in the pipeline, including two mega budgets Maniratnam's epic drama 'Ponniyin Selvan' and mythological drama 'Mahavir Karna'. Other movies include spy-thriller 'Dhruva Natchathiram' and director R. Ajay Gnanamuthu’s 'Cobra', which is touted to be a supernatural thriller.
