Kollywood's busiest director Gautham Menon and Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee are roped in to give voice over for Discovery channel's COVID-19 documentary.

Titled 'COVID-19: India’s War Against The Virus', the documentary will present how the real heroes - front line workers and health officials unite to battle the deadliest virus. It will procide the different steps taken across the country to fight the pandemic and also have interviews of migrant workers, frontline workers, medical staff and their experiences. The film will also focus on the innovations and the way technology is being used to combat the virus.

The documentary will also be in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali and English. The Tamil version will be narrated by Gautham Menon and the hindi version by Manoj Bajpai.

“The fact that we all have been directly impacted by the pandemic makes this project different from others I have been part of. You almost relive part of your life as the reels go by, but at the same time the documentary shines light on so much that you weren’t aware of. That is why documentaries, as an entertainment tool, in my view, will always have a special pride of place,” says Gautham Menon.

“It is a valiant effort. I could not have asked for a better debut as a narrator, especially in my mother tongue Tamil, and coincidentally this marks my first documentary ever.” said the director.

'COVID-19: India’s War Against The Virus' will premiere on July 16 at 8 PM on Discovery Plus and the same will telecast on July 20 at 8 PM on Discovery channel.

Even during the Coronavirus lockdown, Gautham Vasudev Menon keeps himself busy. He directed a short film 'Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn' with Simbu and Trisha and made a music video 'Oru Chance Kudu' starring Megha Akash, Kalaiyarasan and Shantanu.

Gautham Vasudev Menon also has the long pending Vikram's 'Dhruva natchathiram' and the Varun starrer 'Joshua: Imai Pol Kaakha' waiting for release and are in post production stage.
