Ponnambalam, the 56 year old actor and stuntman has been admitted to a VHS hospital in Adyar, Chennai with a serious kidney disorder.

The actor, known for his role in movies like 'Naattaamai', 'Muthu' and 'Indian' was introduced as an actor by Kamal Haasan in 'Michael Madhana Kamarajan'.

He was also one of the contestant on popular reality show Bigg Boss season 2 (2018) on Star Vijay hosted by Kamal Haasan, who was evicted after a few weeks in the house.

After knowing the news, Kamal Haasan has come forward to help Ponnambalam in financial means and has been personally speaking to Ponnambalam through telephone every day giving him moral support. In addition, Kamal Haasan has also taken care of the educational expenses of his two daughters. Ponnambalam shared a video of him in the hospital through a PR.

Ponnambalam started his career as a stuntman and has done numerous film before playing villain roles and also character and comedy roles in hundreds of Tamil and other language movies.
