Sun TV cancels popular TV serials including 'Azhagu',...
Sun TV is canceling some of the popular TV serials due to content issues caused by COVID-19 lockdown.

'Azhagu' mega serial is airing on Sun TV since 2017. Actress Revathi has played the role of Alagamma and 'Thalavasal' Vijay has played the role of Vijay Palanisamy. Along with them, Sruthi Raj, VJ Sangeetha, Manikandan Rajesh and Lokesh Baskaran have played important roles in the series.

Directed by Ramachandran, the series, which has aired more than 700 episodes is now coming to an end. Actor Avinash, who is part of the mega serial posted in instagram that climax shoot is in progress and will be airing soon.

While mega serial fans are awaiting new episodes since TN government allowed shooting for soap operas with some relaxations, this news has shocked the serial watchers.

According to credible sources, Sun TV has decided to cancel the popular TV serials including 'Azhagu', 'Kalyana Parisu', 'Tamizh Selvi', and 'Chocolate'. All these four TV soap operas are produced by Vision Time India Pvt Ltd. During the lockdown the channel filled the slot with old episodes and movies, and now taken a difficult decision.

Source close the production company says, 'Coronavirus lockdown is the cause of the current problem, the serial production team had difficulty coping up with this situation. The main characters in the serials have to come from places including Mumbai, Kerala, Hyderabad and Bangalore; and they refuse to resume shooting for their portions as they have to be in quarantine if they go out of their home districts for work'.

Meanwhile, Vijay TV and Zee Tamil have now decided to telecast TV serials only if the producers of the serial provide twenty-five episodes on hand. The channels think that thet can manage with 25 episodes in hand until they are ready to resume the shoot.
