Vijay Sethupathi's upcoming film with National Award winning director S. P. Jananathan titled 'Laabam' trailer is out now.

'Laabam' is the second film in Vijay Sethupathi - S. P. Jananathan combination, after 'Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai', released in 2015 which also has Arya in the lead role.

'Laabam' has already raised expectation of the film among the fans as Vijay Sethupathi's spotted messy long hair and beard look in a promotional photoshoot of the movie—had gone viral.

While, the shoot of the film was wrapped up early this year and planning to release in May, the release has been postponed due to coronavirus pandemic.

Meantime, on the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi, Vijay Sethupathi took to social media to release the trailer of the film. Vijay Sethupathi wrote, "Here's LaabamTrailer (sic)."

Laabam has Shruti Haasan playing the female lead, who plays the role of a stage performer in the film, shared the trailer as well.

The two-minute-forty-seconds long trailer shows Vijay Sethupathi as a social activist who fights for farmers and innocent people. It also talks about how corporate and Industrial sectors plunders the resources for their own benefits.

'Laabam' is bankrolled by Vijay Sethupathi Productions in association with Arumuga Kumar, who had produced Vijay Sethupathi’s 'Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren'.

Shruti Haasan, who was last seen in the Tamil movie Singam 3, is making a comeback with Laabam and reports are that she plays a stage performer in it. Shruti Haasan was last seen in Suriya's 'Singam 3'. The others in pivotal roles include Jagapathi Babu, Sai Dhanshika Kalaiyarasan,Ramesh Thilak, Prithivi Rajan, Danial anne pope, Nithish veera and Jai Varman.
