Comedian Vadivel Balaji passed away due to cardiac arrest yesterday after suffering a heart attack. Vadivel Balaji was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai 15 days ago after suffering a heart attack.

The comedian was paralysed and had been under treatment since then. After shifting to several hospitals due to financial issues, the actor was finally admitted to Omandurar government hospital where he breathed his last.

Vadivel Balaji's funeral took place at his residence in Chetpet, Chennai yesterday. Celebrities like Vijay Sethupathi, Robo Shankar and Dhivyadarshini paid their last respects, after learning about his family's struggle they even offered financial help to his family.

Vadivel Balaji's dear friend and actor Sivakarthikeyan has promised to take care of the education the late comedian's children. Sivakarthikeyan hosted Vadivel Balaji's popular television show 'Adhu Idhu Edhu' in Vijay TV.

According to the reports, Sivakarthikeyan spoke to Kalakapovathu Yaaru director Thomson, who is very close to Vadivel Balaji's family, and expressed grief over the actor's demise. He promised to fund the education expenses of his two children.

Remembering his friend, Sivakarthikeyan told Times of India, "You can put him in any stage and he will make the crowd instantly laugh to his jokes. I met him at a wedding some time ago. I will always remember his laughter."

Vadivel Balaji's family blamed hospital authorities for his death and also accused them for milking money. Vadivel Balaji is survived by his wife, a son and daughter.

Vadivel Balaji was famous for mimicking and imitating legendary comedian Vadivelu. He had worked in a lot of Tamil films, but had shot to fame with Vijay TV's show Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru.
