Vikram's 'Cobra' team on Kolkata bound

Chiyaan Vikram's 'Cobra' team was forced to leave the country due to COVID-19 pandemic when the team was camped in Russia before the lockdown. The makers has recently restarted the work and resumed the shoot in Chennai.

Ajay Gnanamuthu of 'Imaikka Nodigal' fame is directing the film which is bankrolled by Lalit Kumar's Seven Screen Studio in association with Viacom 18 Studios.

'Cobra' team is now camping in Goa for the next schedule and latest update on the shooting is that the team is planning to move to Kolkata for the upcoming schedule. It was earlier reported that the team will travel to Russia for completing part of schedule.

The makers are planning to wrap up the entire shoot by January. The makers have already released the song 'Thumbi Thullal', and they might have planned to release the film in Summer 2021. Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman is scoring the music for the film and Harish Kannan cranks the camera.

'Cobra' is touted to be an action thriller, and it features Vikram, Srinidhi Shetty, Indian Cricketer Irfan Pathan, KS Ravikumar, Miya George, Mirnalini Ravi, and others.

Vikram will join 'Ponniyin Selvan' sets as soon as he wraps up his portions for Cobra. Jointly bankrolled by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, 'Ponniyin Selvan' is written and directed by ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam.
