The audio of “Kalloori Kalangal” was released recently at AVM-C Theatre by director S.P. Muthuraman. The first CD was received by director V. Sekhar and Giridharilal L. Nagpal, president of the Film and Television Producers’ Guild of South India. Newcomers Sukumar and Priyanka Chandra play the lead, and the cast includes Manobala, ‘Sankar Guru’ Raja, Yuvarani, Vanitha and Pandi. Directed by M.A. Ramoo Shiva, this college campus love story has been shot in Erode, Yercaud and Hyderabad.
Produced by D. Vasudevan, A Srithar and S.R. Doss Reddy, the music of the film is scored by Rajesh Ramalingam, and the lyrics are by T. Sivasubramaniam. The film has six songs. The title song ‘Kalloori Kalangal’ is sung by Kousik. ‘Indha Naal’ sung by Yash Colcha passes the test. ‘Kana Ondru’ is sung once by M. Padmalatha and again by M. Vineeth. The latter’s rendition is better. The song ‘Seval Kodi’, sung by Prabhakaran, Chitra Mahalingam, M.A. Remoo Shiva and D. Murugavel, is above average. ‘Manjal’ is set to ‘Thazhayam Poomudichu Thadamparthu Nadai Nadandhu’, a popular yesteryear number sung by T.M. Soundarajaran for “Baagapirivinai”. Though Kovai Murali has just about pulled it off, Bhargavi Shridhar hasn’t done justice to the song.
