கேப்டன் டிவி அலுவலகம் மற்றும் ஒளிபரப்பை, தேமுதிக தலைவர் விஜயகாந்த் நேற்று தொடங்கி வைத்தார். தேமுதிக தலைவர் விஜயகாந்த் புதிதாக கேப்டன் டிவி தொடங்கி உள்ளார். இதன் அலுவலகம் வானகரத்தில் இருந்து போரூர் செல்லும் சாலையில் ஓடைமாநகர் பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ளது. அங்கு, நேற்று காலை 5.55 மணிக்கு விஜயகாந்த் ‘ரிப்பன்’ வெட்டி அலுவலகத்தை திறந்து வைத்தார். பின்னர், டி.வி. ஒளிபரப்பை தொடங்கி வைத்தார்.

விழாவில், அவரது மனைவி பிரேமலதா, இளைஞர் அணி செயலாளர் எல்.கே.சுதீஷ், அவைத் தலைவர் பண்ருட்டி ராமச்சந்திரன், முன்னாள் போலீஸ் கமிஷனர் காளிமுத்து மற்றும் கட்சியின் மாவட்ட செயலாளர்கள், காங்கிரஸ் எம்பி ஆரூண், நடிகர்கள் முரளி, மன்சூர் அலிகான், வானகரம் ஊராட்சி மன்றத் தலைவர் சீனிவாசன் மற்றும் கட்சித் தொண்டர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.


Vijaykanth’s Captain TV went on air yesterday (April 14th, 2010). The actor-politician inaugurated the channel in a simple ceremony by lighting the traditional lamp. Earlier, he inaugurated the channel office at Vanagaram in Chennai. The telecast began with religious songs to mark an auspicious beginning.

Clippings in which Rajinikanth, Vijay and Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi congratulating Vijaykanth and wishing him all success in this new venture were telecasted on the channel.

Those present at the inauguration ceremony were RK Selvamani, Murali, Mansoor Ali Khan, Ramesh Khanna, Ponnambalam and others.


Captain TV, floated by actor and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) founder Vijayakanth, went on air in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.

With this launch, Tamil Nadu has become the only state, which has seven television channels owned by political parties, with the other six channels being Kalaigner TV owned by DMK, Jaya TV (AIADMK), Makkal TV (PMK), Sun TV (Maran Brothers including Union minister Dayanidhi Maran of DMK), Mega TV (K V Thangkabalu of Congress) and Vasanth TV (Vasanthkumar of Congress).

"Films, movie-based programmes, news bulletins, reality shows, awareness programmes, serials and sting operations will be presented to the viewers," said L K Sudeesh, chief executive officer of Captain TV and brother-in-law of Vijayakanth.

It may be noted that Vijayakanth had, in September 2009, told Business Standard he was planning to launch the channel on April 14 (Tamil New Year).

"We have roped in citizen journalists in most of the Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu to provide us with news and happenings," Sudeesh said, adding the channel already had telecast rights of more than 100 movies. Vijayakanth's hit film 'Captain Prabhakaran' will be the first movie to be telecast on Captain TV.

Trial run is on and the channel will be broadcast through Insat 4B satellite. "The news-cum-entertainment channel will target the youth in the state," Sudeesh said.

The programmes would include health, entertainment and current affairs, besides four news bulletins. The news bulletins will go on air from May 1, 2010, while the 24-hour broadcast will begin on April 14.
