‘Avan Ivan’ release on summer holidays after the ICC world cup

Director Bala’s ‘Avan Ivan’ would be releasing in summer holidays after the ICC cricket world cup, it is reliably learnt.  The cricket world cup, which commences on 19th February and ends on 2nd April, has played spoilsport with the theatrical release of many Tamil films as producers and directors are vary of the lack of response to their films from the public who would be sitting glued to their television screens watching the world cup action.
Bala’s ‘Avan Ivan’ to release as holiday bonanza
The shooting of ‘Avan Ivan’ was recently wrapped and the post-production work including background music, dubbing, etc. have commenced in right earnest, with Bala reportedly aiming a date in the first fortnight of April (would it be the Tamil New Year day on 14th April) to release the film.

Produced by Kalpathi S. Agoram and made in quick time by Bala (less than one year, which is ‘quick’ by Bala’s standards!), the film is expected to give a great boost to the careers of both Aarya and Vishal as they are said to have taken on roles ‘completely different’ from their earlier films.

Shot entirely in and around Theni, the film also has maximum number of ‘action sequences’ among Bala’s films that have been released till date.  The climax sequence featuring Vishal and industrialist-turned-actor RK would be spoken about for a long time, sources close to the director say.
