The shooting of Shankar's Nanban (Tamil remake of 3 Idiots), which has Vijay, Jiiva and Srikanth in the lead roles, is currently progressing at an apartment in Chennai. Our sources also confirm that the team is currently shooting the opening sequence with Jiiva and Srikanth. It is learnt that Vijay has already completed his part for the film and Jiiva will complete his part today. Shankar has recently roped in Andrea Jeremiah to dub for Ileana in Nanban.

Apart from all these, Raghava Lawrence will also make a special appearance (he will reprise the role of Javed Jaffrey). In the film, Vijay will appear as the unorthodox genius Rancchod Das, which was played by Aamir Khan. Jiva and Srikanth will appear as the naïve Farhan Qureshi and Raju Rastogi, which were played by Madhavan and Sharman Joshi respectively. S.J. Suryah will play the role of Chatur (Omi Vaidya). Ileana D'Cruz will appear in the role played by Kareena Kapoor, and Sathyaraj will appear as the insensitive professor Virus, played by Boman Irani.
