Suriya’s much-awaited film Ezham Arivu (7 Aum Arivu) has made a thunderous opening with positive response from the critics and audience. But, can it be a big hit like Ghajini?
Many are of the view that it fails to catapult past the ‘Ghajini’ magic. Though the team is the same, Ezham Arivu lacks the extra punch. Nevertheless, trade pundits have already predicted its good run at the box office for the first week. As the movie saw tremendous advance booking, the coming five days are going to be housefull. We can already see Suriya, Shruti Haasan, A.R. Murgadoss smiling.
Suriya’s Bodhidharma look is also a hit and is trending. ‘Ezham Arivu’ is a period-contemporary film that throws light on the martial arts and Bodhidharma, who is known as Da Mo in China. Suriya gets to essay multiple roles in this film: he is a prince, then Bodhidharma aka Da Mo and also a circus artist. Ezham Arivu, which means 7th Sense, also marks the debut of Shruti Haasan in Tamil films. Shruti plays a scientist in the film.
But the movie faces tough competition from the Bollywood release Ra.One which also released in Tamil, and Velayudham starring Vijay.
