‘Velayudham’ 2 crore opening song for Vijay

Vijay’s Diwali release film ‘Velayudham’ has many special features to boast itself. One of those features is its opening song for which a whopping 2 Crore was spent in filming it.


The song was filmed for 10 days continuously and with 200 hundred dancers participating. The song was choreographed by Ashok Raja, a famous and uprising dance director in tinsel town. The excited Ashok Raja, while sharing his experience in working in the film says, “I proud to be part of this Vijay film. It was a difficult song but Vijay, the director and other dancers lent their fullest cooperation to bring out the best from me. I have choreographed for more than 150 songs and the industry fondly calls him ‘the Opening Song Wonder’! He started his career with T Rajendar’s ‘Sonnal Thaan Kaadhala’ and shot to fame with ‘O Podu…’ song in ‘Gemini’!

‘Velayudham’ features Vijay, Genelia D ‘Souza, Hansika Motwani, Saranya Mohan and Santhanam in the lead and directed by Jayam Raja. Music is by Vijay Antony and the film is produced by Aaskar Ravichandran.
