Rajnikanth has acted close to 135 films plus but 'Basha' has been one of the most famous and favourite movies for Super Star Rajnikanth and his fans.
It was directed by Suresh Krishna, who has earlier directed movies like 'Annamalai', 'Veera', 'Sathya', 'Baba', 'Aalavandan', 'Gajendra' etc.

'Basha' was remade in Sandalwood in the name 'Kotigobba' with Vishnuvardhan in the lead role which turned out to be a super hit film. Now, there are plans to make a sequel to that movie.
The sequel to 'Basha' is to be made in Sandalwood will have Sudeep in the lead role. On enquiring about this, Suresh confirmed that, “Yes there are plans for a sequel. But talks are still in preliminary stage'.
As of now, Suresh Krishna is involved in the shooting of a Kannada 3 D movie called film 'Kotari Veera Sura Sundarangi'. This venture features Upendra and Divya Spandana ('Kuthu' Ramya).
