While director-turned-actor Samudhrakani plays the lead role of a teacher, Yuvan will be seen in the central character of a student.

The story, set against the backdrop of a rural school, apparently revolves around the teacher-student relationship.

There's a larger message for the society in the film, which has Imman scoring the music. Ask Kani about his inspiration for the character he portrays and he says, "I play a botany teacher in Saatai.

Incidentally, the role bears a similarity to my science teacher Kadarkarai in Marimuthu Nadar Melnilai Palli in Virudhunagar, where I studied some years ago. I met him recently and also discussed about the movie," he reveals.
