The Mozart of Madras A R Rahman was recently awarded the honorary doctorate by the Miami University, USA. Here is the exclusive photograph of the double Oscar winner posing after he received the award.

The world renowned musician was conferred with this great honour for his contributions to the world of music.

At the awards function the legendary composer delivered his keynote address that kept the entire audience at awe. Rahman thanked his parents, his first film director Mani Ratnam, his Sufi teachers and his fans and music lovers from around the world who made a significant impact in his life and made him what he was now. The musical genius also thanked US President Barak Obama who had sent personal invitations to visit the White House, and getting a visa and also receiving the first honorary doctorate.

Rahman is presently involved in the music compositions for the Tamil films 'Kochadaiyaan', 'Kadal' and 'Yohan: Athyayam Ondru'. He is also working on a couple of other Tamil and Hindi projects.
