Rohini Institutes ‘Raghuvaran Award’!

Actress Rohini has instituted an award in the name of her late husband Raghuvaran, who ruled the roost in south cinema with his extraordinary acting talents.

Rohini, the actress-TV host-social activist, announced that the award titled 'Raghuvaran Award' will be given to an individual for their acting performances in Tamil films. The award will be given to the achievers in a function held every year on December 11, on the day of Raghuvaran's birth anniversary.
Rohini married Raghuvaran in the year 1996 and as their marriage relationship went into trouble they got separated in the year 2003. They have a son namely Sai Rishivaran.

Raghuvaran, who debuted in films in 1982, did many memorable roles in all the south Indian languages and Hindi. He played varied roles from hero to villain to character artist in many hit films and with almost all top stars of south films. The legendary actor died in 2008 after he fell ill for a brief period.

Rohini is now continuing her acting in films. She is also a theatre artist, film lyricist and TV host. The multifaceted star is now working on a script to direct a film.
