Tamil star Ajith has set a new trend in Indian Film Industry with his upcoming stylish action entertainer Billa 2, which is a prequel to his 2007 super hit Billa.


The film is about the life journey of David Billa, his transformation from a person who is a victim of circumstances to a dreaded Don. The idea to make a prequel belongs to Ajith and director Vishnuvardhan (Tamil ‘Billa’ director). Unfortunately, Vishnuvardhan walked out of the project as his film ‘Panjaa’ with Pawan Kalyan is in the halfway of shooting. Finally, Chakri Toleti (‘Eenadu’ fame, Sagara Sangamam child artist) grabbed the offer of directing this prequel.

As per the Tamil trade, the pre-release business of Billa 2 is one of the best in recent times. The theatrical rights of the film which was made with a budget of Rs. 32 crore was sold out for Rs. 40 crore. The audio rights fetched Rs. 1-2 crore and the satellite rights have been sold for a whopping Rs. 6.5 crore.

As the film is an Ajith starrer, earth shattering openings were guaranteed. If Billa 2 scores a success at Box Office, the concept of prequels will rise. So, wait till 21st of this month for Ajith’s magic!
