For reasons best known to him, actor Vimal is reportedly going out of his way in recommending to the producers and directors approaching him to cast Oviya Helen as heroine in movies made by them.
Oviya, who debuted as heroine in Tamil films opposite Vimal in debutant director Sargunam’s Kalavaani in the year 2010, is looked up as one of the promising newcomers in Kollywood.
Oviya went on to star in films such as Muthukku Muthaga and Marina besides making ‘guest appearances’ in films such as Kamal Haasan’s Manmadhan Ambu and Krishna’s Kazhugu.  She enthralled viewers by breaking into a song sequence donning revealing clothes along with co-star Anjali in her latest film Kalakalappu.

Oviya and Vimal starred in the successful Kalakalappu which released a few months back.  Vimal was paired up opposite Ajnali while Oviya was ‘Mirchi’ Siva’s romantic lead in the film which was directed by Sundar C.  Thanks to the film’s success at the box-office, Vimal and Oviya are said to be in talks with many film-makers to star in their future projects.

Vimal is said to believe strongly that his film would become a sure-fire hit if Oviya is part of it.  Accordingly, he is recommending her to be cast as the heroine in films he signs up with producers and directors who approach him to play lead roles.

Director Ezhil, who has directed the likes of Vijay and Ajith and whose last film Manam Kothi Paravai starring Siva Karthikeyan and Athmiya has been doing reasonably well, is all set to make his next film with Vimal in the lead.  It is said that Vimal’s request to Ezhil to sign up Oviya as the heroine in it has been turned down by the director.
