A number of young filmmakers have made headlines with directorial ventures in Kollywood. Now it's the turn of Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi.

While she is known for her short films, it seems like Kiruthiga is ready to take a big step forward in this career.

Her husband Udhayanidhi Stalin who has made waves with his acting skills in Oru Kal Oru Kannadi was also in the news for taking over the distribution rights for The Dark Knight Rises.

Now Kiruthiga is in the news for taking the role of a director. When contacted, Kiruthiga said, "Talks are still on. Nothing has been finalised yet."

Sources say that Mirchi Siva and Priya Anand are likely to be part of this film and rumours are rife that Kiruthiga is working along with a close friend on the script.

Ask her if this information is valid and she says, "Since nothing has been put on paper yet, I can only reveal details in about two weeks' time."
