Director Bala is one among the directors in Kollywood who ensures that nothing interesting from his film (apart from the cast and crew) is leaked out until the product is completely done. This However, this is not the case with ‘Paradesi’, Bala’s ongoing project.

The filmmaker has said that Dhansika will be playing a slave girl who works in a tea estate and Vedika is the daughter of an Englishman who owns the estate. Vedika falls in love with Adharvaa and once her father comes to know about it, he tries to tear apart their love.

The film is said to have love and hardcore action sequences with the raw touch of Bala. The image makeover of Adharvaa is said to be the highlight of the film. After trying his hand in a comical film ‘Avan Ivan’ (which has not worked well), Bala has returned to what he is best at.

Paradesi has Vedika, Adharvaa, Dhansika and Uma Riyaz Khan in pivotal roles. For the first time Bala has opted for a composer out of Ilayaraja’s family, who is GV Prakash Kumar. Chezhiyan handles the cinematography while T.E Kishore does the editing. The film is based on writer Nanjilnadan’s ‘Eriyum Thanal’, which was earlier suggested to be the film’s title.
