National award winner Seenu Ramasamy’s new film Neer Paravai has got into problem with Christian organizations.

Noted lyric writer Vairamuthu’s song “Para Para..” has few lines without biblical references like ‘Sthothiram’ and ‘Sathiyanumai Nilaikkiraen’, which did not go down well with Christian groups in Tamil Nadu.

The film has Vishnu and Sunaina in the lead and is based on the fishermen community of south Tamil Nadu. Vairamuthu says the songs were penned to suit the milieu of the story.But Christian organizations wanted it to be removed.

Finally Seenu Ramasamy was forced to withdraw the controversial lines in the song.

Said Seenu : ” I’m making a film set in a coastal village and story is about the Christian community. The lyrics were suitable for the story line, but if it offends anybody I’m deleting the lines. My film has got a U certificate.”
