Yuvan always delivers special tracks for Vishal that turns to be a dazzling treat for youth groups. Following the grand success of Theeratha Vilayaattu Pillai and Avan Ivan, the duo is all set to amuse their fans with Samar.

The film is directed by Thiru of Theeratha Vilayaattu Pillai fame and is produced by Jaya Balaji Real Media Pvt. Ltd. The teasers have revealed that Vishal is playing dual roles with sizzling beauties Trisha and Sunaina romancing him onscreen. The album has 5 tracks young league of playback singers.
1. Oru Kannil Vegam
Vocals: K.G. Ranjith, Naveen Madhav, Suchitra

The title song is a hero worship about SAMARAN, who doesn’t fear for anything and flirts with death. Obviously, such lyrical lines are nowhere different from the Tamil intro numbers for mass heroes. Perhaps, the style of musical compositions with heavy metals and percussions should interest miniscule groups. A right pick of singers – K.G. Ranjith, Naveen Madhav and Suchitra exert their best efforts to make the track sound peppy.

2. Azhago Azhagu
Vocals: Naresh Iyer

It’s been a long time we heard Naresh Iyer rendering a song. He fits the track to T making every pronunciation sound perfect. In contrast to the previous track, this one has mild beats and more focus is upon the voice. The interludes are captivating and the visuals should add more romantic feel amongst the audiences. The whistle-like sound heard on the interludes sound pretty honeyed and the person on rhythm box needs special mention.

3. Poikkaal Kuthirai
Vocals: Yuvan Shankar Raja

Listen to the intonating style of Yuvan Shankar Raja during the prelude and you cannot believe it’s him on the tracks. Thanks to the sound engineers for trying on new experiments. Off the latter, you’ll find him back to normal vocalizing style. It sounds like the song is placed at a crucial point in this film. Tons of appreciations for the sound engineers: they’ll keep you awestruck with their fantabulous job in this track.

4. Rajaavin Thoattathil
Vocals: K.G. Ranjith and Rita

One can expect a heart-capturing dance as the track distinctly implies. Maybe, the track has least chances to claim the title as ‘an evergreen number’, but might gain its popularity with the visuals. Again, Yuvan Shankar Raja heavily utilizes the sound mixing and voice modulation with sound engineering.

5. Vellai Maiyil
Vocals: Udit Narayanan, Shwetha Mohan

Following ‘Azhago Azhagu’, this one becomes the next melodious track in the album. Unlike the other number, this one has a mix of peppy techno beats. Udit Narayanan with his usual style of crooning Tamil lines in peculiar way continues with the same panache while Shwetha Mohan’s voice flows tunefully.

It looks like Yuvan has tried endeavouring with new experiments on sound mixing and voice synchronization in this album. It is completely unique and different from his previous albums including his recent release Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal. It might take few more time for the songs to reach the highest degree of popularity. With FM stations continuously airing the songs and Sony Music on avid promotions, it will add the Midas-touch to this album.

Verdict: Yuvan’s new experiment on sound, but middling overall
