With Thalaivaa, Amala has truly arrived. Her immense screen presence, acting chops and dancing skills have been appreciated by audiences.

And now a little birdie tells us that she has been making frequent trips to Mumbai as she is in talks with a major production house and is the frontrunner to do the next Akshay Kumar film.

In fact, some Bollywood tabloids have reported that this film, a remake of Tamil hit Ramanna will be produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali whose last film Rowdy Rathore was a mega blockbuster. This film titled Gabbar will go on floor in December end or January first week.

Though there were rumours doing the rounds in B-town that Shruti Hassan or Illeana will play female lead but at the moment Amala is the front runner and is almost locked for the coveted role.

Remember that southern lasses have always been welcomed with warmth by Bollywood filmmakers. When we contacted Amala, she was tight-lipped and refused to comment.
