'Red Dragon Digital' Camera for first time in the world for Suriya-Lingusamy film

Santosh Sivan uses high-tech 'Red Camera' for first time in Suriya-Lingusamy film 
Cinematographer Santosh Sivan who is known for his excellent camera work in many of Indian films, is now said to have used ‘Red Dragon Digital’ Camera for his upcoming project with Surya and Lingusamy.

This is the first time that the camera has been used to shoot a film and Tamil film industry takes that credit. A test shoot was held in Chennai’s Prasad Studios with the crew that had engineers of 'Red Camera' and 'Angenieux Lens'.

We hear that post this film, the camera will be used by Hollywood filmmaker, Ridley Scott.

Santosh Sivan had shot Surya in some colourful attires with that huge camera that had attracted quite a few eye. Santosh Sivan said, “I want the technological advancement to first happen in Chennai and this is one such sign. Although the visual medium remains the same, such advancements in camera results in enhancing the pictorial details."

This untitled film will have music score by Yuvan Shankar Raja, Rajeevan as the art director and Anthony as its editor. Brindha Saarathy will be penning the film’s dialogues. The movie has Samantha Ruth Prabhu who is teaming up with Surya for the first playing the female lead.

Lingusamy who is directing the film excitedly said, “I have been waiting for a very long time to make a film with Surya. I spent a quality time in nurturing this project and crafted this script. In the recent times, there are lots of young filmmakers rocking in the industry. I have to prepare myself to compete with them.”

The film will go on floors for shoot from November 15 and is scheduled for release in May 2013. The movie will be produced by Lingusamy himself under his banner Tiruapthi Brothers.
