Vikram Prabhu who is meddling with multiple projects including Sigaram Thodu with Sathyaraj, Arima Nambi alongside Priya Anand and Ivan Vera Madhiri, has also signed on the Tamil remake of the Malayalam film Ustad Hotel.

The film is now said to have been titled ‘Thalapakatti’. The original had Malayalam superstar Mammootty’s son Dulquer Salmaan playing the lead and now the Tamil version will see Prabhu’s son Vikram portraying the protagonists’ role.

The Tamil remake will be directed by Sathyasiva of Kazhugu fame. Earlier there were reports about Sarathkumar having been roped in to play Vikram’s grandfather role, originally essayed by Thilakan. The film is likely to go on floors for shoot by February next year.

A source said, “Vikram Prabhu is currently busy with Arima Nambi. He will commence Thalapakatti after he completes that, and the film with GNR Kumaravelan.”
