Arya and Sasikumar in 'Ayyapanum Koshiyum' Tamil Remake?

Mollywood superhit 'Ayyapanum Koshiyum' starring Prithviraj and Biju Menon in the title roles was produced by filmmaker Ranjith jointly with PM Sasidharan under the banner of Gold Coin Motion Picture Company. The makers recently sold the remake of Tamil to S Kathireasan, who has produced acclaimed films like ‘Aadukalam’ and ‘Jigarthanda’.

Some reports earlier claimed that versatile actors Sasikumar and Sarath Kumar is likely to play the lead roles in the Tamil remake. It is rumoured that Sasikumar is expected to reprise Prithviraj’s role and Sarath Kumar will be essaying the role played by Biju Menon. However, latest report claims that Sasikumar and Arya are going to play as Biju Menon and Prithviraj Sukumaran respectively. 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum', the revenge drama that revolved around an ego clash between a police officer named Ayyappan Nair, played by Biju Menon, and a retired havildar named Koshy Kurian, essayed by Prithviraj, is written and helmed by Sachy. It takes elementary-level wisdom to see the pointlessness of dragging a conflict if it is something that could be solved with a simple ‘sorry’. When we see people fighting over silly issues, we roll our eyes at them.

The movie hit the screens a month ago and was a huge success at the box-office grossing over rupees 50 crores and also earned critical acclaims. 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum' is produced by the banner Gold Coin Motion Pictures.

The 'Kalakkatha' folk song, has emerged as the most viewed Malayalam film song of 2020 to date with over One Crore views. The song marked the playback singing debut of the senior folklore singer Nanjamma, who had also penned lyrics for the song. Jakes Bejoy, the popular young musician has composed the single.

The film’s Telugu rights have also been recently bagged by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, who was the producer of superhit film ‘Jersey’ and Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’.

Meanwhile, Sasikumar was last seen in the sequel of Naadodigal. He has also been roped in to play the lead actor in the sequel of Mundhanai Mudichu. Arya, on the other hand, will be next seen in Teddy.
