Cinematographer Velraj, Chezhiyan and Sathyan Sooryan recognized

Kollywood cinematographers, Velraj, Chezhiyan and Sathyan Sooryan who have given us some fabulous frame for last few years, have been recognized to be a part of one of the most prestigious societies, the Indian Society of Cinematographers ISC).

Cinematographer Velraj is one of the most renowned technicians in Kollywood. The ace Cinematographer is known for his hard work in movies from 'Polladhavan', 'Aadukalam', 'Engeyum Eppodhum', '3', 'Ethir Neechal', 'Vada Chennai' and the recent blockbuster 'Asuran'. It is known that Vetrimaaran usually ropes in Velraj for his films.

Recognizing his distinguished works, Velraj has now been officially approved as one of the members of Indian Society of Cinematographers (ISC), a highly reputed association for cinematographers. The members, who are part of this society will have the suffix of ISC in their names in film credits.

ISC, this association was founded in 1995 and its membership is given to cinematographers based on their distinguished filmography works. ISC already includes acclaimed cinematographers like K.V. Anand, Rajiv Menon, Ravi K Chandran, Ravi Varman and Santhosh Sivan, to name a few.

Velraj’s other significant works include 'Vai Raja Vai', 'Sangathamizhan', 'Kadai Kutty Singam' and 'Komban'. Velraj also directed Dhanush’s 25th film 'Vellai Illa Pattadhari' that became a blockbuster in 2014. Clearly impressed by his skills, Dhanush roped him to handle the camera for his debut directorial venture, Power Pandi in 2017.

Apart from Velraj, acclaimed cinematographer Chezhiyan and Sathyan Sooryan has also been added to the ISC association. Chezhiyan is known for Thenmerku Paruvakaatru, Paradesi, Joker and Tolet. Sathyan Sooryan is currently working on 'Master' his previous notable work includes 'Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, 'Adanga Maru' and 'Kaithi'.
