Bharathi Raja's special birthday message for Vijay

Bharathi Raja in his birthday message to Vijay expressed that he had missed out on working with Vijay.
It was 46th birthday for Thalapathy Vijay yesterday. Fans and celebrities showered their wishes for Vijay on social media.

There were no physical celebration per request from the actor himself, due to the coronavirus pandemic situation. Fans set a new record by trending the hashtag #HBDTHALAPATHYVijay on twitter. Among many celebrities sent their wishes, director Bharathi Raja in his birthday message for Vijay expressed his disappointment saying that he had missed working with the star.

Bharathi Raja praised the actor for his skills, and gathering fans all over the world. It is to be noted that Vijay did not work with many leading directors in his career with few exceptions like Shankar for 'Nanban', KS Ravikumar for 'Minsara Kanna' and blockbuster combo with AR Murugadoss. In his 90's and 2000's many film makers ignored working with him for many reasons. Vijay himself choose new directors or directors who listens to him and gives mass value in movie.

In his birthday wish, Bharathiraja has mentioned that he, unfortunately, ignored Vijay.

"In my film career, Vijay is a seed whom I unfortunately ignored. Today, he has converted all the pain from strength to strength. My birthday wishes to Vijay who has been celebrated by the Tamil youngsters across the globe. Be it romance or playing the boy next door, he excels it with his humor and unique body language. Through his graceful dance moves and action scenes, he has attracted crores of fans. His name begins with V, the first letter of victory. On his 46th birthday, I wish him with all the love and let him be blessed with all good fortune", tweeted Bharathiraja.

Bharathi Raja's tweet to Vijay gained lot of attention on social media as fans were puzzled that which film Bharathi Raja missed to direct Vijay in his early career. But it is worth to mention that, Bharathi Raja was approached to play villain opposite Vijay in blockbuster hit 'Theri'. However the director said no to Atlee. Likewise Sathyaraj denied to play the role in 'Theri'. Later director Mahendran was roped in to be villain in the movie. Bharathiraja did a few films for the novelty but he didn’t want to take on this negative role that too opposite Vijay.
