We reported two months back that Director Ezhil is teaming up with Radhakrishnan Parthiban and Gautham Karthik for a new project. Now the movie starts rolling in Chennai from today.

The movie being shot in an IT park in OMR. Director Ezhil of Thulladha Manamum Thullum, Poovellam Un Vasam and Deepavali fame who is known for his rural comedy and family entertainments says this is entirely different project from this previous films.

The movie is said to a crime thriller based on a novel by famous crime fiction writer Rajesh Kumar. Director Ezhil says he is a huge fan of crime thrillers. The shooting will take place for a month until December and they are planning to shoot in Puducherry and Ooty too. The makers are planning to finish the film by January and release it in theatres.

“I’ve been exploring comedy all this while. But I always wanted to do a thriller. This one is a murder mystery, which is inspired by Rajesh Kumar’s novel. I don’t want to reveal the name of the book now, as people might read it,” says Ezhil.

The film was supposed to go on floors in March, but postponed due to pandemic. The movie will have minimal cast per the script and explains it is not because of COVID-19.  Newcomer Saipriya plays the female lead. The film’s music is by D Imman.

“The film is based on a sound system... there is something called a war decibel, a sound people used to hear during the war. That sound is so high that people also call it the death decibel. The film touches upon that. Gautham plays a private detective, while Parthiban plays a cop. It will be a gripping thriller, with commercial elements.”, Ezhil adds.

Parthiban was last seen in Oththa Seruppu (2019) and Pon Magal Vandhal (2020). Ezhil's last release was Saravanan Irukka Bayamen starring Udhayanidhi Stalin in 2017 and two of his films Jagajala Killadi (Vishnu Vishal) and Aayiram Jenmangal (G.V. Prakash) remain unreleased after being in production hell for quite a while.
