I had been to theatres in Chennai on the first day of Kutty’s release. I watched the film along with Dhanush in Devi Theatre. There was applause for certain scenes by the audience. I am happy with the response of the audience.

About you joining with Dhanush for the third time?

I had worked with Selvaraghavan in the film Thulluvadho Ilamai. Dhanush and me are good friends. He will be speaking jollily in the shooting spots. Other times we use to play cricket. We have a good understanding. I know what type of stories Dhanush likes. Dhanush knows how I will shoot a scene. We used to share our thoughts. Because of this unity we were able to continue in the third film after Yaaradi Nee Mohini and Kutty.

You continue to direct films with family background?

I have not decided this. It comes on its own. Since both are remake films, it had happened like this. Audience prefers family stories. B and C centre audience like films with action and love in family background. Children and ladies come in large number to watch these films. With this we can draw other audience to watch the film and make it a hit.

Are you not scared of remake stamp?

Many are appreciating that both the remake films are better than the original. It is a big job to direct a remake film. But I will not continue to concentrate on the remake films. Now I will be directing the remake of the Telugu film Kick which will have Dhanush and Genelia in the lead roles. This will be the last remake film which I will be directing. After this my film will not have family background.

About your last remake film?

This film is being produced by Sri Balaji Studios. The film is yet to be titled. You can see a fresh pair Dhanush and Genelia in this film. A big star cast including Bhagyaraj are acting in this film.
