P L Thenappan is producing a film titled Ayyanar under the banner Sri Rajalakshmi Films. Aadhi and Meera Nandan are in the lead roles. S S Rajamithran while speaking about this film, said,” This film has all the commercial ingredients like romance, sentiments, action, comedy and glamour.

The hero murders if he loses his temper. What is the reason for this? Who is he? What is his destination? All these things I have narrated through the screenplay.

When the film was sent for the certification to the Censor Board, the members said that though the film was good there was lots of blood and hence they requested that if this is trimmed, the audience can see the film with their family.

So we accepted their view and trimmed the film accordingly to certain extant. But the rapid pace in the action scenes has not been reduced. When seeing the name Ayyanar, people have the feeling that this film advocates violence.

This film is a beautiful action film. The Kannada film Sodhekara which I have directed has been released and has become a hit.”
