SJ Surya could direct Vijay for 'Thalapathy 65'

Teaser of Vijay's 'Master' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj was released recently and has been making records and many wonder there isn't any dialogue for Vijay in the teaser.

While Vijay fans are celebrating the achievements of the 'Master' teaser, fans are unhappy as there are no announcement on the actor's next film.

When directors like Sudha Kongara and Pandiraj were rumoured to direct Vijay's 65 film to be produced under the banner of Sun Pictures, the chance went to AR Murugadoss. Expectations raised high after Vijay was said to reunite with his 'Thuppakki' director AR Murugadoss for another action entertainer. But AR Murugadoss walked out the project over difference of opinion with the makers.

Once again the hunt for 'Thalapathy 65' director continues and possible names in the list for the new director of the Vijay starrer were rumoured as Magizh Thirumeni, Perarasu and Nelson Dilipkumar. Magizh Thirumeni recently started his project with Udayanidhi Stalin. Meanwhile, Music composer Anirudh Ravichander referred director Nelsol Dilipkumar to Thalapathy Vijay. Nelsol working with Anirudh for Sivakarthikeyan's 'Doctor'. However, there’s no official update on it yet.

Now, apart from Nelson, another director comes in the list. That director is none other than SJ Surya. Reports suggests that Vijay heard the story from SJ Surya and he seems to have liked it. It was SJ Surya who gave big break for Thalapathy in 2000, with blockbuster hit 'Kushi' with Vijay and Jothika in lead role. He maintains good rapport with Vijay and also played the villain in 'Mersal'.

Now it is up to Vijay to decide whether he wants to work with the senior director like SJ Surya who has already worked with him and given him a super hit or give a chance to an emerging director like Nelson.

If 'Thalapathy 65' falls on his hands, SJ Surya will wear director hat after 5 years. SJ Surya last directed 'Isai' released in 2015. He was last seen as actor in 'Monster' which got released last year.
